The Launch Day

August 25th and I just made the last commit for the day. Opened my GitHub desktop, pushed the update, whilst connecting our domain name. They say charity begins at home. So I sent the early version to a few family members and friends. Feels good.

Officially, we just made soapnotes.doctor 1.0.0.

If you don't know what that number means, I'll take a second to brief you.

For future updates, soapnotes.doctor will employ a "Semantic Version Model" which uses MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH, each representing updates.

Today, we released 1.0.0, our most stable version.

A minor update could lead us to 1.1.0 while any bug fixes (patches) could have us at 1.0.1.

We would have a 2.0.0 anytime we probably decide to have a "major change" - e.g., a big redesign.

Now, outside these numbers, our goal is to give soapnotes.doctor the best experience in terms of accuracy, comfort and most importantly, security.

Built for Healthcare Professionals

From having a mum, two sisters and a close cousin in the medical field, I know that if there's one thing people in this pretty interesting field want to alleviate, it is stress.

We built soapnotes.doctor for that reason. If you think about patient care, you shouldn't be thinking about document care.

If you're busy listening to a patient's subjective report, you shouldn't have divided attention thanks to the SOAP notes you have to write.

I genuinely want to have a better patient experience, and I'm thankful that I built a tool like this.

I love the medical industry. Hope they love me back :)

Security and Privacy First

We fixed security and privacy…

There are a lot of ways to get things faster as a health professional, but the last thing I will advocate for is to do that at the expense of security and privacy. The medical field is too feeble and fragile. A breach of that can only be harmful. That's the reason we've built soapnotes.doctor on the bedrock of security. We've done this; however, we're not satisfied.

In a few days' time, we'll be releasing 1.1.0.

This will employ military-grade encryption, also technically known as AES-256 (Advanced Encryption Standard with a 256-bit key).

So just like WhatsApp can't see or read users' data due to their end-to-end encryption, soapnotes.doctor directives will be unable to view and access your data. This will be a major milestone for the industry, which we're happy about.

If you're yet to join the journey, you'll be so pleased to!
